“Care spose, cari amici stilisti ed esperti del settore,

tra pochi giorni avrei dovuto presentare la Collezione 2021, un appuntamento che attende me e tutto il settore sposa ogni anno nel mese di aprile. Quest’anno purtroppo l’appuntamento è rinviato e la nostra priorità, come cittadini italiani e del mondo, è rimanere a casa per proteggerci a vicenda. Ma questo non significa non poter essere uniti e cogliere insieme un’opportunità per il futuro.

Sì perché, anche se adesso il futuro sembra così incerto, so che la ripresa ci sarà. Arriverà il momento in cui ci lasceremo alle spalle la complessità di queste settimane così dure e potremo gradualmente riprendere in mano, con la ritrovata libertà, il nostro prezioso quotidiano. E lo faremo, ne sono convinta, con una nuova energia e consapevolezza.

Riflettendo su questo, continuo il mio lavoro da casa con fiducia, pensando alle mie spose, le mie muse da sempre, a cui voglio dire: non lasciatevi scoraggiare, il vostro matrimonio è solo rinviato, ma sarà comunque meraviglioso. Continuiamo a sognare insieme, solo con un pizzico di pazienza in più. E anche questo, a pensarci bene, può insegnarci un nuovo modo di vivere, una nuova consapevolezza dell’importanza di alcune cose, che a volte diamo per scontate.

Ed ecco il mio invito agli amici stilisti, a tutti i rappresentanti del settore e alle spose: ora più che mai facciamo sistema e diamo ognuno il suo contributo per sostenere il nostro bellissimo Paese, che si trova oggi in estrema difficoltà. Facciamo in modo che ogni scelta sia più consapevole, per esempio valutiamo il made in Italy come scelta responsabile e sostenibile. Se i tessuti italiani sono infatti sinonimo di qualità, l’artigianalità e il fatto a mano comportano certamente un minor spreco di materiale.

Il made in Italy, inoltre, è un intero sistema di garanzia di qualità, che si riflette anche nel rispetto del lavoro di chi è esperto in un’arte antica e pur sempre attuale. E che ha profondo rispetto anche di chi lo sostiene, ripagando ogni sposa con la bellezza e l’eleganza dell’eccellenza vera, che va oltre lo spazio e il tempo. Ed ecco che un singolo abito su misura rappresenta tanto di più di ciò che mostra: ricerca, equilibrio, forma, personalità.

Chiudo questa lettera con una piccola anticipazione: in nome della ripresa che ci attende, la parola d’ordine della mia nuova Collezione sarà libertà: un termine dal rinnovato significato in questo momento storico, che fa parte della mia più profonda natura e che vorrei diventasse realtà in tutti i Paesi del mondo.

“Dear brides, dear stylist friends and industry experts,

in a few days I would have to present the 2021 Collection, an appointment that awaits me and the whole bridal sector every year in April. Unfortunately, this year the appointment has been postponed and our priority, as Italian and world citizens, is to stay at home to protect each other. But this does not mean that we cannot be united and seize an opportunity together for the future.

Yes, because even if the future seems so uncertain now, I know that there will be a recovery. The time will come when we will leave behind the complexity of these hard weeks and we will be able to gradually take up our precious daily life with our newfound freedom. And we will, I am convinced, with a new energy and awareness.

Reflecting on this, I continue my work from home with confidence, thinking of my brides, my muses since always, to whom I want to say: do not be discouraged, your wedding is only postponed, but it will still be wonderful. We continue to dream together, only with a little more patience. And this too, if you think about it, can teach us a new way of life, a new awareness of the importance of some things, which we sometimes take for granted.

And here is my invitation to the stylist friends, to all the representatives of the sector and to the brides: now more than ever we make a system and we each give our contribution to support our beautiful country, which is now in extreme difficulty. We make every choice more aware, for example we evaluate the made in Italy as a responsible and sustainable choice. If Italian fabrics are in fact synonymous with quality, craftsmanship and handmade products certainly involve less waste of material.

Furthermore, Made in Italy is an entire system of quality assurance, which is also reflected in the respect of the work of those who are experts in ancient and still current art. And who also has deep respect for those who support him, repaying each bride with the beauty and elegance of true excellence, which goes beyond space and time. And here a single tailored suit represents much more than what it shows: research, balance, shape, personality.

I close this letter with a little anticipation: in the name of the recovery that awaits us, the password of my new collection will be freedom: a term with a renewed meaning in this historical moment, which is part of my deepest nature and which I would like to become reality in all countries of the world.
