The incredible shooting inspired by the famous painting by René Magritte from 1928, “The lovers (Les Amants)” was conceived in the terrible months in which the world, as if by a spell, stopped. The Tuscan photographer, Francesco Fornaini wanted to imagine and interpret the dismay, the disappointment of many couples who had circled their wedding date in the 2020 calendar.

The passion for the art of the photographer was born as a child, when he began to follow in the footsteps of his father, a painter. In fact, in his photographs are live elements of the photographic reportage and quotes from the world of art, for a unique and original result. Francesco has always been fascinated on the one hand by the beauty of the works of art and on the other by the elegance of the contrasts of light and shadow, by the gestures, looks and poses of the subjects represented, which he looked at with eyes full of emotion.

In a scenario characterized by uncertainties and restrictions, he wanted to give a little push so that life would start again from where it had stopped. Like the famous painting by the Belgian painter, the two lovers kiss, with their heads covered by a white cloth that prevents them from seeing and communicating, arousing a certain restlessness and anguish. In fact, the cloth covers the wedding project of the two future spouses.

The place chosen is located in Tuscany between the rolling hills of Cortona, the Relais La Corte Dei Papi, an ancient farmhouse of the late eighteenth century. The baroque party room, where the seduction of gold dyes friezes and frames, was chosen as a boudoir where the bride would wear the tulle and lace of her white dress. Right here the clothes that covered their faces are removed, ready to say the fateful Yes!

The Tuscan wedding & event planner Michela Valcaccia chose white and gold for this shooting, a trait d’union between inside and outside, also present in the mise en place, played down however by the more sober style of the tableware and above all by the minimal decor of dried flowers which we also find in the bride’s bouquet. She carried out a study on the location to define the choice of the color palette. Stationery and wedding cake were made respecting the mood to give a touch of originality.

The choice of floral design by Dario Benvenuti, Floral & Weddings is characterized by a selection of dried flowers and wild herbs. The video story of this incredible shooting was made by Lumiere Wedding Films, characterized by an elegant and cinematic style.
