Interview with Jennette Kruszka – Director of Marketing and PR
At Kleinfeld the entire store is 35,000 square feet on two floors. We see about 18,000 brides per year and they have a one on one appointment with a sales consultant specifically for them who is an expert stylist and will choose the dresses following their requests. We have 27 dressing rooms and we also have a small private area for VIP appointments. We have over 60 designers from all over the world and an exclusive designer: Pnina Tornai, who has a boutique dedicated to her in the store.
How many dresses do you have by Pnina Tornai?
Pnina, is our exclusive and number 1 designer and we have almost 100 dresses designed by her. Every year in October she has a runaway show during the bridal market and she designs about 30 new pieces and then throughout the year she sends more styles she is inspired by. She also comes once a month for a trunk show in shop and looks at the brides, finds out what there looking for, then goes home designs and sends us more dresses. She uses crystals and Swarovski, she does really amazing corsets, a lot of her dresses will lace up with the boning inside which gives the woman a great shape. Apart from her couture collection she also has another collection called the Love collection which is in a lower price range from $2500 to $4000 per dress, her first collection starts at $6000.
Is Pnina the number one seller in the shop?
Yes, she is the most popular designer in our shop right now.
What is the average sale price for a dress at Kleinfeld?
At Kleinfeld the average sale is at about $3500, which is also why Pnina made the “Love collection” so that she can appeal to every bride. Then we have the higher end bride who will spend as much as $18000!
Is this one of the most popular stores in the US?
Yes in the US and we have people flying here from all over the world, like New Zealand, Africa, and Italy!
Is it also popular because of the show, Say Yes to the Dress by Randy Fenoli?
Yes! And we get tons of tourists who just want to peak in to the salon and take a picture because of the show.
For example if someone comes from Italy how long does it take to get an appointment at Kleinfeld?
About 3 weeks in advance cause we book up quickly especially for the weekends. For example on Saturdays we have over 100 appointments!!! It’s free we don’t charge for an appointment you just need to book, and then we take a credit card just to reserve the appointment, and for our cancellation policy, so if you don’t show up or cancel 48 hours prior to the appointment we charge a $50 cancellation fee. Otherwise it’s free.
Do the designers come to the store to present their collections?
Every week we have a trunk show, sometimes two times a week, so one designer at the beginning of the week and then another at the end to present the new collections. We highlight the trunk show dresses in the shop and we will have them out for a few days. The designer or the sales representative will be here to work with the brides. Thinking about Italian designers we had Maison Signore here last spring.

Siete anche famosi grazie allo show televisivo, “Say Yes to the Dress” con Randy Fenoli?
Certo!
